Polina is the owner of World Custom Alterations.
Polina moved to the United States with her family in 2003 at 49 years old from Romania. A nurse by trade, Polina tried to find work in her new country but didn’t have the resources to go back to nursing school. Besides nursing, the one other skill she could perform commercially was sewing. Polina started sewing when she was of young age and made her first dress from scratch in fourth grade. She found a position with an alteration store in Novi, MI right away. This is where she learned the business of clothing alterations and she fell in love with it.
In 2005 an opportunity arose for Polina to buy her own store in Northville and she did just that. Fifteen years later, Polina grew her business to what it is now and she became a staple in the community.
Polina specializes in all aspects of clothing alteration, clothing restoration, equestrian clothing, upholstery, draperies and many more; one of her favorite clothing items to work on being wedding gowns.
Polina loves what she does, loves the creativity of her line of business, appreciates her clients and their loyalty to her and she is always giving back to the community.
